Skandia Cowes Week is the largest annual sporting event in the UK after the London Marathon, with almost 1000 yachts and 8000 competitors taking part. The eight day event, which has been running since 1826, is great for competitors and spectators alike, there is an action packed racing schedule afloat and non-stop socialising and partying ashore throughout the whole week.

The Volvo race yachts are the Formula One of the yachting world. Having broken the record on the first leg of the course, the Volvo 70 has already proved itself to be the fastest mono hull in the world.

Just imagine these yachts sailing in the restricted waters of the Solent , doing nearly 30 knots racing round the cans. Don't delay, book a trip out on one of our RIBs there are bound to be many takers.

The new RIB ordered in December is now out of the mould and has moved into the tube assembly shop. The graphic design on the tubes, inspired by Harmsworth Marketing Services of Hartfield, (01342 825665), was described by the tube shop foremen as “challenging” but certainly the most distinctive he had come across. He, like us, can't wait to see the finished boat which is to be delivered fully coded early in March.

The new Suzuki V6 250hp engine was tested against major competitors in the most recent issue of the magazine ‘RIB International' and we are pleased to report that it came out best in the fuel consumption test and was described as “Suzuki's frugal V6” performing far better than it's nearest rival. There was little to choose between all engines in acceleration from O to 30 knots and the ‘Suzi' was equal to all others with a maximum recorded top speed of 45 knots (52 mph). All of which means our clients can look forward to reduced fuel costs in 2006 and, amazingly, an increase in the WOW factor.
