Champagne and champagne sailing was the order of the day at this years LBCC, all four races where sailed in perfect conditions allowing each boat to discard their worst result. The wind turned up this year unlike the 2006 regatta giving varied conditions between 5 and 25 knots.

Ellmer Construction where our highest place yacht this year showing the value of an intensive training day prior to the event which included numerous tacks gybes and spinnaker hoists but still allowing time for a pub lunch in Beaulieu.

Chorus and T Clarke plc both entered in their own right this year and achieved two very respectable results in their classes. Lesterose took a significant step up into the racing class aboard Cobra the brand new Beneteau 34.7 and posted a credible result. Briggs and Forrester continued to improve achieving their best result to date.

This year we made available a regatta support vehicle to all our entries, which carried spares and provided shoreside storage and transport to and from their accommodation.

Back in August we where asked to provide a rib (by one of our rib charter partners) as support for a Hollywood Block Buster filming in Beaulieu. World renown American Film director Woody Allen was filming his latest film on the Solent. The films plot remained a secret despite our skippers efforts, however we do know that the staring role was taken by a small wooden sailing boat named 'Hampshire Maid'. The supporting roles where played by Ewan McGregor and Colin Farrell. Unfortunately we don't have a release date yet but we will keep you informed.

Griffin in commercial mode (photo left) took on the role of support rib to the main filming boat, she was full of spare film, cameras, lens and numerous technicians.
