RYA POWERBOAT LEVEL 1 (MAX 3 STUDENTS)
A one day introduction to power boating, involving, boat handling and seamanship ideal for the complete novice.
RYA POWERBOAT LEVEL 2 (MAX 3 STUDENTS)
An intensive two day course, covering boat handling, passage planning, navigation, safety equipment, rules of the road and more.
RYA INTERMEDIATE POWERBOAT (MAX 3 STUDENTS)
The RYA have recognised that there is a gap in the training between powerboat level 2 and the Advanced syllabus, this new award is the Intermediate, consisting of coastal cruising by day ,using gps and traditional navigation methods at high speed , plus the importance of the role of skipper the whole idea is we plan a passage and then we do it, held over two days, course content involves tips and tricks for navigating at speed, charts, chart symbols, gps, day shapes, passage plans,CG66, weather, tides, man overboard, how to handle emergencies, boat handling , rules of the road, and more, a good course for developing skills for those of you wishing to take short coastal passages by day . Students must have Powerboat level 2 with a coastal endorsement .vhf / first aid recommended
RYA ADVANCED POWERBOAT (MAX 6 STUDENTS)
For the serious boat user or commercial operator held over two days, a night passage will be made along with more advanced navigation techniques and boat handling skills, the ability to navigate to Day Skipper standard is required, as well as having vhf and first aid. (minimum age 17). As of Jan 2005 Candidates wishing to have a Commercial Endorsement added to their Advanced Powerboat Certificate will have to undertake a separate exam both Practical and Theory . INTERNATIONAL CERTIFICATE OF COMPETENCE
This is a requirement, if you wish to take your boat abroad and is needed if you hire pleasure craft in sunnier climes. Consisting of a practical and theory exam.

For those of you who wish to cruise the inland waterways of Europe this is a bolt on course to the
ICC and consists of a theory exam, you will need to purchase The RYA Book of EuroRegs for Inland Waterways, which you must have onboard while cruising these waterways.
RYA DIRECT ENTRY EXAM LEVEL 2 AND ADVANCED
For those of you with the skills of boat handling and navigation but no formal qualifications. A practical test followed by an exam on Navigation, Rules of the Road, Chart work, Safety Equipment, Lights and day shapes and seamanship.
ONE DAY REFRESHERS (MAX 3 STUDENTS)
Great for blowing away the winter cobwebs, any aspect can be covered from Navigation, to boat handling, you decide the course content.
RYA FIRST AID AT SEA(MAX 6 STUDENTS)
A one day course covering every day emergencies that can happen when we are too far from immediate assistance, from how to treat minor cuts and bruises , broken bones and heart failure to high line transfers a must for all who go to sea. (includes first aid manual value £10.99)

A one day course in Radio Procedure and Digital Selective Calling
You will need a passport size photograph of yourself and a further £22 payable to the RYA for your exam .

RYA ONE DAY RADAR COURSE
Learn how to use your Radar with confidence. From interpreting the picture for collision avoidance , and how to use it as aid to Navigation and Pilotage. Also the International Rules To The Prevention of Collisions at Sea

ELECTRONIC NAVIGATION (MAX 6 STUDENTS)
A one day theory course on how to get the best out of Electronic Navigation, covering GPS plotters, PC plotters, and hand held GPS units, we look at Rastor and Vector charts from very basic applications to more advanced tips and tricks, a computer simulator is used to test yourself on the above mentioned methods.
OWN BOAT TUITION (MAX 3 STUDENTS)
What better way of learning than on your own boat, and the cost of the tuition can be divided by three of you, as you are only paying for the instructor, the syllabus is exactly the same as RYA Power boat level 2 or the advanced syllabus. (minimum safety equipment required, The vessel is insured by the owner for loss damage and legal liability to third parties, The owner remains the skipper and legally responsible for the safe management of the vessel at all times even when under instruction)
ONE TO ONE TUITION RYA LEVEL TWO, INTERMEDIATE AND ADVANCED
A very intensive course with personal coaching for the above levels. This is a popular option for some, as you have the instructors undivided attention, and can really cover a lot of ground over the two days, some schools will put you on a waiting list until they have enough students to fill a course, this can be very frustrating for you the student, our aim is to get people out on the water enjoying this great pastime of ours that's why we run courses seven days a week throughout the year.
HALF DAY TUITION (MAX 3 STUDENTS)
An ideal course for those of you who want to refine certain aspects of your boat handling either on your boat or ours we can cover any subject chosen by you.
BASIC NAVIGATION
A one day intensive course in Navigation, covering Charts, Passage Planning, Variation, Deviation, Courses to steer, Pilotage, Electronic Navigation, Tides, Weather, Rules of the road, Lights and Day Shapes lots of theory and a computer simulator to test you.
RYA DAY SKIPPER / YACHTMASTER THEORY
5 day intensive courses or courses held over three weekends (minimum of two required)
16 week course held over the winter Starting mid September 1800 to 2100 Monday and Tuesday evenings, a maximum of 6 to a class includes the RYA Electronic Charts, Books and Practice Navigation Tables
NIGHT NAVIGATION (MAX 4 STUDENTS)
This is one of our most popular courses, held over 5 hours (approx) three hours of theory on Rules of the Road, Lights, Navigation , Passage Planning and Chart Work, then the practical out in the Solent using our passage plan to a destination decided by the instructor great fun and fast. The hours logged can go towards your Day Skipper or higher exams.
